Dave Russell is a former CEO and senior executive for several corporations. After 35 years of serving shareholders, stakeholders, customers, and employees in his company roles, Dave is now sharing his business experiences as an advisor and consultant to smaller businesses. With the gifts he has been able to gain over his corporate career, he now wants to help others less fortunate and give his time to important missions such as One Catalyst. In addition to his other philanthropic efforts, Dave led the creation of the Jessica Bongiovanni Research Fund at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for the advancement of research and treatment of osteosarcoma.

Dave was our catalyst, Jessica Bongiovanni’s, uncle and godfather and knows how special Jessica was. Not only was she a gifted student and athlete, she was one of the most caring and giving nieces and goddaughters anyone could ask for.


Kathy Bongiovanni

Kathy Bongiovanni is a professional registered nurse with 39 years experience in both hospital settings and outpatient care. Her entire adult life has been dedicated to taking care of others.

As the mother of the One Catalyst initial spark, Jessica, she has experienced the pain of a devastating diagnosis as well as the heartbreak of loss. However, she has also experienced the kindness and generosity of others through kind words, affection, and financial assistance. Through One Catalyst, she hopes to honor her daughter’s memory by keeping the spark lit through assisting others in their time of need.


Nick Hooten

Throughout Nick Hooten’s professional career, he has created and designed custom investment strategies for a multitude of institutional clients to address their specific needs. These clients have included public agencies, private corporations, and nonprofit organizations. Nick has served on boards at multiple nonprofit organizations in a variety of states. Nick has experienced both tremendous blessings and tragic events.  He believes the desire to help others is among the greatest qualities that exists within the human spirit.

He believes One Catalyst will provide focus and purpose to its fundraising efforts by allocating their capital efficiently and finding causes that are able to maximize it's impact. Nick is married to Jessica's sister Katie and is the father of two girls, Sadie and Tessa.  He hopes to honor the memory of their aunt by contributing to the mission of One Catalyst.


Lauren Steins

Lauren is a litigation attorney at a mid-size law firm in Philadelphia.  She currently focuses her practice on a diverse range of liability claims including premises liability, products liability, and employment discrimination. She is an alumnus of Rutgers University School of Law and Drexel University. While at Drexel, Lauren was a member of the NCAA Division I soccer team, which is how she met Jessica, a fellow Dragon playing for the softball team. During their time at Drexel together, Lauren and Jessica became close friends. Jessica has inspired Lauren to be a board member of One Catalyst using her legal background to support others in their time of need.

Michael Leppert

Michael is a business executive with over 30 years of leadership experience in sales and operations. After graduating from Gettysburg College, Michael served as a Military Intelligence officer in the US Army. His 12 years of service as an active duty and reserve duty officer taught him the importance of service and commitment. In his civilian life, Mike has held a variety of senior level leadership roles in such corporations as Ryder Transportation Services, Mobil Chemical Company and Nestle. As the uncle of Jessica and father of 3 children, Mike understands the importance of helping others and communities as a whole. Besides the One Catalyst Foundation, Mike is also presently a Board member on the Lepp Foundation and was President of a non-profit in his hometown of Manchester Township.
